2007 harvest
Based on what we've seen so far in our vineyards, 2007 is promising to be an extremely good vintage, capable of strengthening the international critics, trade and consumers' perception of our wines' excellence.
Harversting started roughly 2 weeks earlier than average, due not so much to a hot summer, but rather because of the very mild winter and spring climate.
Quantity is within the norm, but the splendidly sunny days, together with the important temperature gradients between warm days and cool nights immediately prior to starting the harvest, have produced a perfect ripening of the grapes, from both the sugars and tannins point oif views. The ideal climatic conditions have also protected the grapes from parasites and diseases.
We are extremely pleased to see that the grapes selected to enter our fruit drying facility present an optimal quality, allowing us to predict a 5 stars 2007 vintage for our Amarone and Recioto.
