La Poja |
 |
|
La Poja is a tract of land that is almost a small plateau (327 m a.s.l.), which spread out just above la Grola.
It is a vineyard of about 2.5 hectares, which was planted in 1979 with the idea of experimenting the potential of Corvina grapes, which, in the case of La Poja's wine, are vinified in purity.
The Guyot planting was programmed with the precise intention of producing an absolutely original wine for the Valpolicella Classica area, capable of valorising its most representative vineyard.
The intuition of growing single grape varieties belongs entirely to Giovanni Allegrini, who developed the idea through passionate dialogue with his land.
La Poja is a vineyard that enjoys a very particular microclimate: it has fine exposure throughout the day, constant ventilation and a terrain that is almost exclusively calcareous, a true exception in the geological panorama of the Valpolicella.
