Valerio Massimo Manfredi:
‘storyteller’ of Allegrini’s Vinitaly

Allegrini has chosen to pay homage to the book as its theme for Vinitaly 2018. Valerio Massimo Manfredi, author of 15 million books sold worldwide, will be the Company’s special guest for the 52nd Vinitaly wine fair.
In an exclusive at the Allegrini stand (Hall 6, stand E5) on Sunday, 15th April at 12.00 pm, Manfredi will premier his story ‘Amoris potio’ (Love potion), set in Villa Della Torre, in Fumane di Valpolicella, in the 16th century. The love potion involves a heady mix of wine, the Renaissance, a mysterious woman and much more, in a succession of thrilling twists and turns, interweaving historical investigation and the fantastical.
Valerio Massimo Manfredi, author of internationally successful historical novels such as the Alexander trilogy, The Last Legion, Tyrant, and his latest, Teutoburg, has decided to tackle this new challenge: “A way to grapple with all kinds of settings, styles, and different situations. ‘Amoris potio’ – explains the author – is a long story or a short novel. The atmosphere is that of a thriller, with a return to the past, to the Renaissance, when the Villa was built. The theme of wine plays out as a kind of elixir of love with a secret recipe. I have come up, I think, with a very enjoyable story, which I hope will appeal to everyone”.
